Welcome delay to Runcorn Incinerator

There was an unexpected delay this week in the building of the Runcorn Incinerator when workers on the construction side of the project walked out in protest in support of the laggers on site. The issues apparently revolved around the company building the plant utilising labour from the North East of England when there were local construction labourers still looking for work.

Sadly this is only the start of the import problem as anyone following this website will know, as once the plant is operational the only waste contract so far secured is one to import waste from South Lanarkshire to Runcorn to burn.

So for those workers who think imported labour is an issue, just wait until they start burning imported waste and then let’s see which is the bigger issue.
