SID and CHAIN Curry & Quiz night 9th January

SID understands that many people will be asking why are we trying to raise money, after all isn’t the incinerator thing all over? Here are some answers?

Q1.Why fund raise, isn’t is all over?

A1. Yes we defeated the RRS incinerator but an even bigger incinerator is now planned to be built in Lostock.

Q2. If it’s in Lostock it’s not in Wincham. Why are we objecting?

A2.The massive increase in traffic, the pollution from fumes, greatly increased health risks, and collapse in house prices will be just as bad as if it was built in Wincham.

Q3. So just how big is the planned Lostock incinerator compared to the RRS one in Wincham?

A3. It will be 600000 tonnes -TWICE the size! Think Wembley Stadium!

Q4.So what is SID and CHAIN doing?

A4.The incinerator has been given the go ahead by central government. The only way to stop it is with a Judicial review. Local councillors are helping but we need to raise money to contribute to the process.
